The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has disclosed why he stopped employing female secretaries.
Pastor Adeboye said his decision to avoid any situation that could lead to temptation made him stop employing female secretaries after relocating to the church’s campground.
Addressing his members at the Redemption camp at Lagos-Ibadan expressway, the clergyman said he opted against female secretaries because he wanted personal discipline and needed to set firm boundaries because he worked late nights due to his pastoral duties.
Pastor Adeboye said: “From the moment I got to this campground, from the moment I got to a stage where at night I still have to work, I ceased to have a female secretary, some people thought it was gender discrimination.
“I know myself. I know who I was before Jesus saved my soul. I know the possibility of dangers, being left alone at night with the opposite sex.”
Despite this, Adeboye spoke warmly about his former secretary at Ebute-Metta, describing her as a committed believer and noting that her conduct remained exemplary.
