A leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin expressed deep embarrassment when educated individuals from the North claim that the region is unfairly treated in the presidential rotation. He made these comments during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday. The House of Representatives member from Kano also noted that the northern region has a history of political disunity. “I’m truly embarrassed to witness knowledgeable northerners stating that the North is shortchanged in presidential rotation. The North has continually been politically divided against itself, and it’s time we acknowledged this truth. Such remarks by a northerner on national television are disrespectful to the former leaders from our region,” he remarked.
