The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has asked the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Joash Amupitan, to resign immediately.
The National Chairman of the party, Senator David Mark, made the call at a world press conference held in Abuja on Thursday.
Addressing the press, Mark asked President Bola Tinubu to sack the INEC chair if he fails to resign, insisting that he has shown he is not capable of conducting an acceptable election in 2027.
He said, “We demand the immediate resignation or sack of the INEC chairman. We call on Professor Amupitan and all his national commissioners to resign immediately.
“We no longer have confidence in them. We are convinced that they are incapable of conducting any credible election.”
