The Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Gift Worlu, has urged Governor Siminalayi Fubara to clear the air if he is innocent.
Worlu made this statement on Tuesday in an interview on Channels Television monitored by DAILY POST.
He said, “The Assembly members have pointed out a number of infractions.
“The point here is that the assembly exists to ensure that people who are in executive positions like myself don’t just do whatever they like. So if we are saying that we are for impeachment or we’re against impeachment, we have to put it in context.
“And for me, the context here is that the assembly members who have the responsibility to check the exercises of the executive and the governor in this case have pointed out a number of infractions.
“It is now left for the governor to answer to those questions and then clear the air. If he has not done anything wrong, then of course the impeachment will not stand. But if he has done something wrong, of course he should face the law. That is the only way we can have a sane society.”
