Romero Angry at Tottenham’s Medical Staff for Their Management of His Recent Injury

Cristian Romero is reportedly angry with Tottenham’s medical staff over the management of his recent injury, expressing gratitude instead to the physios from the Argentina national team for aiding his recovery. Since suffering a quadricep injury in early December against Chelsea, Romero was out for nearly three months before making his comeback against Bournemouth in the Premier League. His absence, along with that of teammate Micky van de Ven, created a significant gap in Tottenham’s defense, forcing Radu Dragusin, Archie Gray, Ben Davies, and new recruit Kevin Danso to step in. Nonetheless, Romero has now participated in the last three games for Spurs, showcasing his fitness for international play, including playing the full match in Argentina’s 1-0 World Cup qualifier victory over Uruguay. Recent comments from TEAMtalk journalist Eduardo Burgos reveal that Romero feels “deeply upset” with how his rehabilitation was managed at Tottenham, having been sidelined for 21 matches prior to returning. This isn’t the first instance of the 26-year-old voicing his discontent with the club’s medical team. Following his much-anticipated comeback from injury in the match against Bournemouth, Romero shared a social media post that stirred discontent among several Spurs fans. His message explicitly criticized Tottenham’s medical staff, stating: “I’m grateful to the physios in Argentina for helping me recover from a tough time and getting me back on the field, where I feel so happy.” I appreciate all of your ongoing support.
