​Scottish Cup: Dessers Scores Three Goals and Provides an Assist in Rangers’ 5-0 Victory    

 

Cyriel Dessers scored a hat-trick, along with goals from Clinton Nsiala and Ross McCausland, leading Rangers to a 5-0 victory over lower division team Fraserburgh and advancing to the 16th round of the Scottish Cup on Sunday. In addition to his three goals, Dessers assisted on another during the emphatic Cup win. The 30-year-old also scored in Rangers’ 3-0 victory over Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership earlier in the week. Dessers opened the scoring in the 13th minute, followed by Nsiala extending the lead in the 52nd minute. Dessers then made it 3-0 in the 57th minute and assisted McCausland for the fourth goal in the 74th minute, before completing his hat-trick with the fifth goal in the 90th minute. Rangers will find out their opponent for the round of 16 after Monday’s draw. The club has won the Scottish Cup 34 times, making them the second most successful team in the tournament’s history, trailing only Celtic’s 42 victories.
