​Security on the roads: Yankhoba Diémé has raised the tone and announced radical reforms 

  During a field visit to the south of the country, the Minister of Infrastructure, Land and Air Transport, Yankhoba Diémé, expressed with firmness his intention to put an end to the many fatal accidents which continue to occur. “This can no longer go on”, he declared, announcing the imminence of concrete measures in the framework of the application of the conclusions of the national assises on transport. We can no longer content ourselves with prayer and hope. Yes, prayer is essential, but it is also imperative to act with lucidity. “He has, moreover, extended the condolences of the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister and the whole Government to the families of the victims. “We recognize that the responsibility rests in large part on our shoulders”. In response to the criticisms of transport operators who demand better road infrastructures, the Minister underlined an alarming trend: “The most serious accidents of recent months have occurred on recent and in good condition roads.
