​Seizure of drugs in Seling, Senegal: two men arrested with 4 kg of Indian hemp 

  The Kidira Combating Unit, which is part of the Tamba Regional Brigade of Narcotics Operators under the aegis of the Central Office for the Suppression of Illicit Traffic in Narcotics (OCRTIS), arrested two individuals in Seling, Senegal. The suspects, arriving from Seling, Mali, on a motorbike, were apprehended following the exploitation of an operational intelligence. During the operation, the police seized four kilograms of Indian hemp of the brown variety in possession of the two individuals. A security search also allowed us to discover a mobile phone on one of the suspects. Interrogated summarily, the two individuals were admitted to be the owners of the drug. They declared that they had bought it in Mali for a total amount of 200 000 FCFA, or 50 000 FCFA per kilogram. The suspects have been placed in custody, and the investigation is continuing to determine the exact circumstances of this trafficking and to identify possible accomplices. This operation demonstrates the continuing commitment of the Senegalese authorities in the fight against drug trafficking in the region.
