SÉNÉGAL, tout est à refaire…!!!. (Senegal, all is to be done over and over again…!!!) The news fell like a coup d’état, shattering the political and economic landscape of Senegal: the report of the Court of Auditors updated serious shortcomings in the management of public finances. At a time when the regime in place was supposed to be a beacon of hope and renewal, this document paints an alarming picture that calls into question the very foundations of the trust that citizens have placed in their leaders. As Senegal seems to be navigating in an ocean of uncertainties, it is crucial to explore in depth this report and its implications. The report of the Court of Auditors, presented by the Minister of Justice Ousmane Diagne, evokes elements as serious as forgery in writing, embezzlement of public funds and money laundering. These accusations could potentially involve a wide range of actors, ranging from former ministers to managers, en passant by accountants. The picture is bleak, and it is obvious that the scale of the irregularities denounced calls for a strong and immediate reaction. It is not only a matter of a few isolated cases, but of a system which, if proven, could have undermined the foundations of the State. The words of the Minister are unequivocal: “Exhaustive and thorough investigations will be conducted to trace the illicit financial flows and identify all the authors, co-authors and alleged accomplices.
