​Senegal: Diomaye receives Alex Soros, President of the Open Society Foundations 

  The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, granted an audience this Monday morning to Mr Alex Soros, President of the Board of Directors of the Open Society Foundations (OSF). During this meeting, Mr. Soros welcomed the bold vision of the Head of State in terms of economic transformation and institutional reforms, which he described as a bearer of hope for a more just and equitable Senegal. He also reaffirmed the commitment of his Foundation to supporting these dynamics of change through a constructive partnership with the Senegalese authorities. The Open Society Foundations is an international philanthropic organization founded by George Soros, which works to promote human rights, democracy, social justice, good governance, the rule of law and citizen participation. Present in more than 120 countries, OSF supports open and inclusive societies, particularly in Africa, in areas such as access to justice, education, freedom of the press and the fight against inequalities. This hearing is part of the ongoing dialogue between Senegal and its international partners working for sustainable development, democratic governance and social justice.
