Senegal: the World Bank approves financing of 115 million dollars to support budgetary reforms and strengthen public finance management

The World Bank has approved concessional financing of USD 115 million to support Senegal’s efforts to improve the sustainability of the public debt, strengthen public financial management and increase the mobilization of domestic resources. This financing, through the International Development Association (IDA), will contribute to the implementation of the government reform flagship programme, namely the Programme for transparency in the management of public finances and the consolidation of public finances (SENFINTRAC) 2025-2029, which is aligned with the country’s Vision 2050. The programme for strengthening the budgetary viability of Senegal (SEN-FISCALE) is the result of a strong partnership between the Senegalese government and the World Bank to advance the budgetary reforms essential to the country’s development ambitions. By improving the way in which public resources are collected, managed and spent, the programme should contribute to creating the conditions for more inclusive growth, better service delivery and greater resilience to economic and climatic shocks, thus contributing to Senegal’s wider objectives of shared prosperity and opportunity. It’s wide open.
