Shaibu Commends the NFF’s FIFA Forward 3.0 Initiative as a Transformative Force in Football

Comrade Phillip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has praised the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) headed by Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau for starting the development of two new pitches and a hostel as part of the FIFA Forward 3.0 initiative at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, according to Completesports. According to reports, “The NFF has launched a commendable initiative.” This is a positive move, as it not only helps save millions of naira that would typically be spent on hotel accommodations for our national teams’ training camps, but it can also draw other national teams to train here, thereby generating revenue for the NFF. “According to Shaibu, this will enhance the nation’s tourism,” he mentioned. Additionally, Omeruo said, “For the 2026 WCQ, the Super Eagles will treat the matchup against Rwanda as if it were a cup final.” Typically, we place our teams abroad for training, which incurs expenses in the millions. The addition of our new sports fields and hotel will draw interest from other nations to utilize our amenities, thereby generating revenue for us. This is a commendable move, and I would like to praise NFF President Ibrahim Gusau for starting the project after 18 years since its initial phase. Initiated in 2007, the FIFA Goal Project includes a football pitch, a technical center, and office facilities, aimed at enhancing football infrastructure worldwide with superior amenities. In a related development, the launch ceremony for the FIFA Forward 3.0 project is anticipated to happen on Tuesday, featuring Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium’s Package B in Abuja. This update comes from Richard Jideaka in Abuja.
