Vice President Kashim Shettima and Senate President Minister Godswill Akpabio joined other government officials in a symbolic release of pigeons during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony in Abuja on Thursday.
The event, which honors the sacrifices of Nigerian military personnel, featured moments of reflection, tributes, and patriotic displays.
The release of the pigeons was intended to symbolize peace, freedom, and the nation’s commitment to remembering its fallen heroes.
Shettima attended the ceremony at the Cenotaph of the Unknown Soldier, Eagle Square, Abuja, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu.
