The Court of First Instance of Dakar (Chambre correctionnelle) has delivered its verdict in the shocking case of Fatim Samb, a 15-year-old girl tragically struck by a vehicle on 5 April in Keur Massar Sud. The conductor, M. M. and Dieng, a 21-year-old student without a driver’s license, as well as several members of the two families involved, were sentenced to six months of suspended prison for obstructing the administration of justice. According to the information of L’Observateur, the events took place at around 20h45, in the quartier d’Aïnoumady. Fatim, a student in a Koranic school, had just finished a course when she was violently hit by a vehicle driven by her neighbor, M. M. and Dieng, please. According to witnesses, the girl was found with her head trapped under the left rear wheel of the vehicle. Alerté par les cris, the father of the victim, I. Samb, has precipitated sur les places. With the help of the driver’s brother, an air traffic controller transported his daughter to a local clinic.
