The Southeast African Democratic Congress, ADC, has launched a team, known as South East Mobilization Network ,SEMN, saddled with the responsibility of strengthening grassroots mobilization for the party electoral success comes 2027.
The launching of the group took place in Enugu with the emergence of its National Executive Council members.
The Director General of the group, Bryan Diamond Agu, addressing the gathering after the unveiling ceremony said the body was launched to create strategic pathways toward strengthening ADC across the Southeast geopolitical zone ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He commended ADC members and stakeholders over what it described as their collective commitment in ensuring the successful launching of the group, particularly, the Imo State Chairman of the Party, James Okoroma, for his insightful exposition on political mobilization and party development.
Agu, added that the NEC as the highest decision making body SEMN will ensure that the same level of commitment demonstrated during the unveiling ceremony, must reflect on the Council’s task of mobilizing the Southeast Electorate for the party.
” The task of mobilizing the Southeast Electorate has already begun and it requires disciplined execution of agreed programmes and strategies.
We must align fully with the directives of the national leadership of the Party to ensure synergy and measurable electoral outcomes.”he said.
The DG, also noted that the ongoing ADC National E-Membership Registration exercise is aimed at strengthening the party structure, improving membership management and enhancing strategic planning from polling units to State levels.
He encouraged SEMN members and coordinators to actively mobilize citizens to participate in the registration process particularly, in preparation for the forthcoming ADC congresses scheduled to hold on April 7, 2026.
Agu also said the body will ensure that it encouraged the electorate to participate in Permanent Voter’s Card ownership as part of the requirements to participate in any democratic exercise.
” Members were therefore charged to intensify grassroots sensitization and assist eligible citizens in obtaining their PVCs, knowing that political participation without voting capacity undermines democratic engagement.
“Also reaffirming the principle that politics is fundamentally local, SEMN, has directed its State Coordinators to submit timelines and programmes for State-by-State inauguration of its Executive structures, this is to consolidate SEMN presence at LGA,Ward and polling units levels where electoral outcomes are ultimately determined”Agu maintained.
Recognizing the contributions of party leaders who were presence at the occasion, especially the Chairman planning Committee ,Nnamdi Anedo and the Apex Leader of SEMN, Lady Monica Ebere Ozoude, the Director General said that their selfless efforts made the unveiling a successful one.
He further expressed that SEMN, has confidence in the ADC national leadership towards building what it termed credible alternative capable of winning power in 2027.
Agu therefore urged the members to deepen engagement with voters from the zone and promote the party’s vision of responsible governance and national renewal.
“This is the time for action. We must roll up our sleeves and go to work. The ADC represents hope for Nigerians, and SEMN must stand at the forefront of this historic movement toward national transformation.”he further said.
