A lorry derailed, violently hit the safety barriers, and found itself dangerously suspended above the river, causing a temporary interruption of the circulation and a wave of anxiety among the road users. The incident occurred early this morning on the Farafenni bridge, a vital axis linking Senegal to the Gambia and facilitating travel to the Casamance region. According to initial reports, the driver of the truck lost control of his vehicle for reasons still unknown. The heavy weight then struck the guard-corps of the bridge, shattering part of the structure and leaving the truck in precarious equilibrium above the emptiness. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
