Spurs Hero Against Liverpool Bergvall Matches Bale’s Carabao Cup Achievement

Lucas Bergvall replicated Gareth Bale’s achievement in the Carabao Cup by scoring the decisive goal for Tottenham, leading to a 1-0 victory over Liverpool on Wednesday night. Bergvall found the net in the 86th minute, giving Ante Postecoglou’s team a narrow advantage in the first leg. At 18 years and 341 days old, Bergvall is now Tottenham’s youngest goalscorer in the Carabao Cup since Bale scored against Middlesbrough in September 2007 at 18 years and 72 days. The match appeared to be heading for a draw until Dominic Solanke assisted Bergvall in the box, allowing the young player to secure his first goal for Spurs. The return leg is scheduled for February 6 at Anfield. In the other semi-final on Tuesday, Newcastle United won 2-0 against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, with goals from Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon. Got what it takes?
