Artiste manager Bullgod has announced his intention to petition Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) to investigate the recent erection of a statue in honor of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. According to him, the individuals responsible for commissioning the statue should be held accountable, describing the project as a waste of public funds.
Speaking on Accra-based United Television, he criticized the decision, saying, “I have plans to petition the ORAL team to investigate whoever commissioned that statue. You cannot use state funds to erect such a useless statue. When the road there is bad. For eight years some of us have been talking, people are now talking, and we will be talking.”
Bullgodalso said he spoke to his lawyer about the legal consequences of destroying state property when he heard about the statue. “I called my lawyer when I heard that a statue was erected for the former President and asked that if you destroyed state property, what is the crime?
“For me, the regional minister who commissioned it needs to be investigated. I don’t know the laws that allowed him to erect a statue by the roadside”, he said. He believes public funds should be used for more important things, like fixing bad roads, and he wants those responsible for the statue to be questioned.
