The Secretary-General of And-Jëf/Pa, Mamadou Diop Decroix, criticised, on Monday 9 June, in a note of which “Le Soleil” has a copy, the status of leader of the opposition mentioned in the framework of the National Dialogue. According to him, it is an imported concept, without real relevance in the Senegalese context. The former minister called for a more in-depth debate on the role of political parties in a context of national construction on the economic, social and cultural level. Mamadou Diop Decroix does not go four ways: the question of the leader of the opposition, revived in the framework of the National Dialogue, is, according to him, an “importation product” without an endogenous foundation. In a document published on Monday 9 June, the former minister and secretary general of And-Jëf/Pa calls rather to reflect on the role of political parties instead of focusing on a concept derived from the “Françafrique après le sommet de La Baule en 1990”. “It was the intention of its creators to find a way for the main actors of the political scene to participate in the sharing of the cake rather than to spend their time killing each other by interposed partisans.
