This Thursday, France is the scene of a large-scale social mobilization against the 2026 finance bill. Strikes and demonstrations are organized throughout the country, with a strong concentration in Paris. The trade unions denounce the budgetary measures judged “unjust and brutal”. According to the French authorities, between 30 000 and 60 000 demonstrators are expected in Paris, with a planned departure from the Place de la Bastille towards the Nation. Major disruptions are to be expected in public transport, notably in Île-de-France where 0003% of metro drivers are on strike. An important security apparatus has been deployed, with 80 000 police and gendarmes mobilized throughout the territory.
