At just 12 years old, Suborno Isaac Bari is already leaving a trail of remarkable achievements, making waves as one of the brightest minds of his generation.. As a recent high school graduate from Malverne High School in Long Island, New York, Suborno is ready to take the next giant step in his academic journey – starting his studies in maths and physics at New York University (NYU) this autumn.. But for him, this is just the beginning. His ambitious plans extend far beyond undergraduate studies, with hopes of completing a doctoral programme before he’s even old enough to drive.. “I hope to graduate from college by the spring of 2026, when I’ll be just 14,” Suborno shared with enthusiasm, revealing his drive and passion for his studies. “If I decide to pursue a second Ph.D., it’ll be in physics, but maths is where my heart truly lies.”. Suborno’s story isn’t just about impressive academic feats, but about a young boy whose passion for learning began before most children could even write their names.. He memorised the periodic table at the tender age of 2, and by the time he was 7, he was lecturing on complex subjects at universities in India. His remarkable journey hit another milestone recently when he became the youngest person ever to graduate from his Long Island high school.. Suborno’s high school years were anything but typical. After completing Year 9, he accelerated through his education, skipping directly to Year 12. There, he earned an impressive GPA of 96 during his first year and 98 in his second, all while taking non-degree classes at prestigious institutions like NYU, Stony Brook University, and Brooklyn College.. “Taking university-level classes was a whole new challenge for me,” Suborno admitted. “The coursework was more intensive, the classes longer, and the material far more advanced. But I loved it. It was like unlocking a new level in a game.”. It’s no surprise that Suborno’s academic path has taken him to NYU, where he’ll make history as one of the youngest students ever to be admitted. The university’s spokesperson confirmed that they have no records of any student younger than Suborno being accepted, further cementing the uniqueness of his journey.. The early spark of Suborno’s brilliance was kindled by his parents, Rashidul and Shaheda Bari, both of whom work in education. It was in 2014, when Suborno was just 2, that they first noticed his exceptional ability to grasp abstract concepts.. Suborno Isaac Bari leads a lecture at Mumbai University in India. His mother, Shaheda, was teaching him basic maths when he began asking questions that were beyond his years.. “One day, when I was teaching him simple maths, he started asking, ‘What is n plus n?’” said his father, Rashidul, who is a physics teacher at Brooklyn Technical High School. At first, he didn’t think much of it. But soon, his son was abstracting every maths concept he encountered.. Rashidul shared his son’s newfound interest with a university professor, who was amazed. “A 2-year-old can’t do that kind of abstraction,” the professor told him. “You need to pay attention to this.”. And so, they did – offering Suborno opportunities that would help nurture his budding intellect. By 7 years old, Suborno was teaching college courses in India, invited by several institutions to share his knowledge with students and faculty alike.. Suborno’s talents didn’t go unnoticed in the US either. In 2016, then-President Barack Obama sent a personal letter congratulating him for his hard work and academic achievements.. And while he still has a few years before he can officially take an IQ test, his family has been informed that Mensa, the high IQ society, is eagerly awaiting his 14th birthday to officially measure his intellectual prowess.. But despite all the accolades, Suborno remains grounded. “It’s absolutely insane to think about starting at NYU this autumn,” he said. “But I can’t wait to meet others who are just as passionate about maths and science as I am. I look forward to diving into the mysteries of the universe with them.”. When asked about his future, Suborno’s vision is clear. One day, he hopes to follow in his parents’ footsteps by becoming a professor, sharing his love of maths and physics with future generations.. “My dream is to teach,” he said, his eyes lighting up with determination. “I want to inspire others, just like my parents inspired me.”. With his impressive journey already underway, there’s no doubt that Suborno Isaac Bari’s star is only going to continue to rise. His story is a testament to the power of curiosity, the support of family, and the boundless potential of a young mind unafraid to dream big.
