
Iran are in talks with Nigeria for an international friendly ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, DAILY POST reports.
According to the Tehran Times, the Iran Football Federation are planning for two friendlies in March against the Super Eagles and Costa Rica.
The two friendlies is scheduled for March, according to the publication.
However, for the Super Eagles, any match engagement remains subject to FIFA’s impending ruling on the country’s eligibility protest against Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Leopards defeated Nigeria 4-3 on penalties in the final of the African playoffs last November.
Iran will face Belgium, Egypt, and New Zealand in Group G at the 2026 World Cup.
