
Hon. Paul Mbatsaver Azahaan, a former councilor in Benue State, has been killed by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.
The late Mbatsaver represented Nzorov Council Ward in Guma Local Government Area.
DAILY POST gathered that he was attacked at his residence in Tse Azahaan, Mbagen, on the night of Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Sources said the assailants stormed his home during the late hours and shot him, leaving him dead.
The killing has plunged the community into mourning and intensified fears over the growing insecurity in rural parts of Benue State.
Residents described Mbatsaver as a well-known grassroots politician and called on security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The police have yet to release an official statement, as tension continues to rise in the community amid concerns of potential further attacks.
