La région de Tambacounda is facing a health situation of concern. Since the beginning of the year 2025, 472 newborn deaths and 42 maternal deaths have been recorded. The announcement was made by the governor of the region, Guédji Diouf, during the celebration of the Mawlid at Makacolibantang. “From the beginning of the year to the present day, we have registered 472 neonatal and 42 maternal deaths”, he declared.
