The Black Women’s Agenda’s 48th Annual Symposium & Awards Luncheon quickly sells out, paying tribute to pioneers and featuring inspiring discussions. Guest Speaker Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris Delivers Engaging Remarks that Bring the Theme “Lifting Every Voice” to Reality. (Black PR Wire) WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Black Women’s Agenda, Incorporated. (BWA) attracted a full house for its 48th Annual Symposium Town Hall and Awards Luncheon, which took place on September 27 at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C., as part of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference. Tickets sold out quickly after their release, highlighting the event’s status as a crucial meeting for leaders, advocates, and influencers nationwide. The theme for this year, “Lifting Every Voice,” set the stage for two engaging Town Hall discussions that encouraged lively conversations, audience involvement, and calls to action. The first panel, “The Change of Menopause and Women’s Health,” examined misconceptions surrounding Black women’s health, including data that reveals Black women frequently experience menopause symptoms for a longer duration than others. Actress and philanthropist Jayne Kennedy spoke about her own experiences, encouraging women to accompany their partners and family members to medical appointments to help inform everyone in the household about what to anticipate. The discussion ended a prolonged silence on women’s health, with audience inquiries enhancing the dialogue’s depth and immediacy. The second panel, “Lifting Every Voice,” led by Symone Sanders-Townsend, co-host of MSNBC’s The Weekend, concentrated on leadership, civic involvement, and the future of democracy. Panelists urged action to safeguard voting rights and elevate the voices of Black women in the national conversation.
