The Bauchi government has directed the elimination of unauthorized billboards and posters.

The Bauchi State Infrastructure Development and Maintenance Agency (BASIDMA) has instructed the prompt dismantling of any unauthorized billboards and election campaign posters affixed to streetlight poles and public buildings throughout the state. The agency’s Director-General, Engr. Abdulrahman Mai-Auduga, who issued the warning, stated that the enforcement team will not hesitate to dismantle any unauthorized billboards and posters if the responsible parties do not adhere to the regulations. He noted that this action is part of the state’s continuous effort in urban renewal and regulatory cleanup. The increasing presence of illegal billboards and posters in key areas of Bauchi has become a significant environmental and visual issue. “This initiative is aimed at cleaning up the city and tackling illegal structures that alter our urban appearance,” said Mai-Auduga. In addition, Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad, the Managing Director of the Bauchi State Physical Planning and Development Authority, encouraged residents to adhere to the current physical planning laws and regulations. “It is the responsibility of every citizen to follow physical planning guidelines that are established to ensure public safety and protect the environment,” he emphasized.
