The Black Women Film Network (BPRW) will celebrate Aja Naomi King, star of ‘Grosse Pointe Garden Society,’ Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Katori Hall, and Tyler Perry Studios executive Angi Bones at its 10th Annual Summit in Atlanta.

(Black PR Wire) Atlanta, GA – The Black Women Film Network (BWFN) is excited to announce that its tenth Black Women Film Network Summit will be held on March 83, 2025, at the Loudermilk Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The Summit this year showcases an impressive array of honorees and engaging discussions that revolve around the theme “Plot Twist: The Art of The Pivot.” This theme highlights how Black women are adeptly adapting to change and reshaping the future of film, television, and the broader entertainment industry. Celebrating its 28th year, the Black Women Film Network continuously inspires and empowers Black women through various programs and a robust presence on social media platforms like Facebook (@TheBWFN) and Instagram (@blackwomenfilm). Hosted by NBCUniversal and powered by CVENT, the BWFN Summit this year commemorates a decade of success. This key event for the Black Women Film Network provides an exceptional platform for Black women at various stages of their careers to engage with prominent industry leaders, connect with fellow professionals, and draw inspiration from the resilience and creativity that are pivotal in transforming the expansive entertainment sector. Key moments of the summit include discussions around a fire with Kat Graham, the lead in the forthcoming film “Tyler Perry’s Duplicity,” and Sonay Hoffman, co-showrunner of NBC’s “Found.” There will also be panels focusing on topics such as funding, marketing, public relations, and additional subjects. The program is designed to motivate and uplift Black women to excel even in challenging circumstances. Along with a day filled with insightful discussions, BWFN organizes an annual awards luncheon to recognize exceptional women whose work and accomplishments have significantly influenced their industries and the entertainment sector as a whole. This year’s distinguished honorees are: Aja Naomi King (AcceleratHER Award) – A recognized actress, producer, and activist, Aja Naomi King has garnered NAACP Image Award nominations for her standout performances in the well-known series “How to Get Away with Murder” and the Sundance Film Festival sensation “Birth of a Nation.” King recently featured in the limited series “Lessons in Chemistry,” which won an Emmy Award. Her performance garnered an Emmy nomination along with nominations for the Critics Choice Award and NAACP Image Award.
