Director Warda Mohamed and actress Kosar Ali teamed up for “Muna,” an 18-minute short film that is now streaming on BBC iPlayer. The film explores the experiences of a British-Somali teenager dealing with grief and family connections. The project started unexpectedly after Mohamed’s social media update regarding finishing her script drew the interest of a commissioner from BBC Film. Ali, recognized for her BAFTA-nominated work, is the creator of “Muna,” a British-Somali short film that delves into themes of grief and cultural identity.
