The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has raised the prize money for the champion of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, as reported by Completesports. According to reports, Africa’s soccer governing body has raised the total prize for the WAFCON 2024 finals by 45%. The distribution indicates that the champion of the tournament will win $1 million, while the second-place team will earn $500,530. Additionally, Ijamilusi expresses confidence that the Super Falcons can reclaim their title as champions of Africa. The teams that finish in third and fourth place will earn $350,000 and $300,000, respectively. Those who reach the quarter-finals will receive $200,000, while the teams finishing in fifth and sixth place will take home $150,000 and $125,000, respectively. Morocco is set to host the biennial tournament from Saturday, July 5, to Saturday, July 26. The current champions of the competition are South Africa’s Banyana Banyana.
