In a global context marked by financial uncertainties and geo-economic rearrangements, Senegal, under the impetus of President Diomaye Faye and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, is strengthening its strategic partnership with China. This cooperation, illustrated by the official visit scheduled for 22 to 27 June 2025, is part of a dynamic of diversification of economic alliances and consolidation of critical infrastructures. This contribution explores how Sino-Senegalese cooperation, through initiatives such as the Silk Road and the interconnection of regional capitals, catalyzes a systemic transformation of the Senegalese economy, while addressing the challenges of financing the Zone de Libre-Échange Continentale Africaine (ZLECAF). This is the first time that the EU has been involved in a joint venture with a non-EU country. The European Union is committed to the development of a common foreign and security policy. The recent audience given by Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko to Chinese Ambassador Li Zhigang underlines the importance attached to this partnership.
