Ansoumana Dione, President of the ASSAMM, informed that she had been summoned to the Cybercrime Division this Tuesday 20 May 2025 at 11 o’clock. The reason for this summons was a complaint he had lodged against Boubacar Diakhaté, of the Directorate of the Health of Mother and Child, for defamation and dissemination of false news. The latter would have accused him, in a video broadcast on 17 April on Kewoulo TV, of having benefited illegally from the Kaolack psychiatric centre thanks to a favor from President Macky Sall, which he formally denied. Ansoumana Dione denounces a campaign aimed at discrediting the ASSAMM since the arrival to power of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye. It specifies that the psychiatric centre of Kaolack is a private property of the association, acquired in 2003 on a land granted by the commune of Kaolack, under the regime of Abdoulaye Wade. He also refers to another complaint, lodged on 22 April 2025 against Boubacar Dieng, focal point of the REPOSAMS, for propositions deemed defamatory on Al Quran FM. L’enquête confiée à la brigade territoriale de Kaolack is en cours, mais Ansoumana Dione dit toujours attendre une convocation pour confirmer sa plainte. The investigation entrusted to the territorial brigade of Kaolack is in progress, but Ansoumana Dione is still waiting for a summons to confirm her complaint.
The Commission is also proposing to extend the scope of the Directive to include the following areas:
