The Commission des lois de l’Assemblée nationale has approved, by a majority of its members, the indictment of the former minister Mansour Faye before the Haute cour de justice. The announcement was made on Thursday 8 May in the House by the rapporteur general. Mansour Faye, former Minister of Community Development, Social and Territorial Equity, is implicated in an alleged overcharging case concerning the acquisition of beds intended for the management of the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the elements communicated, the amount of the surplus referred to would amount to 2,7 billion CFA francs. The examination of this dossier shall be continued before the competent court in accordance with the procedures laid down by law.
