The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation has launched a new tool to track executive orders, aimed at educating and motivating civic involvement.

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation has launched a new tracker for executive orders aimed at promoting awareness and motivating civic participation. The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) has officially introduced the CBCF Executive Order Tracker: Understanding What’s at Stake for Black America, which offers timely updates on legal changes and their effects on Black communities. (Black PR Wire) [Washington, D.C.] — The CBCF is excited to announce this new initiative. Created by the Center for Policy Analysis and Research at CBCF, this important resource provides Black communities, researchers, and stakeholders with timely information and detailed understanding of executive orders that impact our everyday lives. The platform’s distinct emphasis underscores how these orders affect essential concerns in Black communities, such as fair education, accessibility to healthcare, stability in housing, economic prospects, and reforms in the criminal justice system. The timing of this launch is crucial, given that Americans observed an extraordinary 36 executive orders being signed in just one week—several of which pose risks to essential protections and could reverse advancements made for Black Americans. Executive orders allow presidents to sidestep Congress and implement policies that have swift and extensive impacts. While legislative bodies and the judiciary can serve as limitations on executive authority, it is essential for communities to remain involved. The CBCF’s tracking system fills this void by providing users with current updates and insightful analysis to help them maneuver through changes in policy. “The Executive Orders tracking platform serves not only as a resource but also as a vital support for communities aiming to grasp and impact the policies that impact them significantly,” states Dr. Jonathan Cox, Vice President of the Center for Policy and Research at CBCF. The platform’s value lies in its emphasis on the effects that particular executive orders have on Black communities, which tend to suffer the most from the reversal of policies and rapid executive alterations.
