The prosecutor of Saint-Louis has broken the silence following the death of a student at the university, Gaston Berger. I’ll give you the communiqué of the chief of the local prosecutor, Baye Thiam. In the evening of 10 February 2025, the Public Prosecutor’s Office was informed of the discovery of a lifeless body in a student room on campus 1 of the Université Gaston Berger de Saint-Louis. The transport was carried out on the spot by the judicial authorities in the company of investigators of the Brigade de Recherches de la Gendarmerie nationale and allowed to make the first findings. The deceased was identified as Matar DIAGNE, born in Guinaw Rails (Dakar), a student in the Master of Public Law at the UGB. An investigation was opened to clarify the circumstances of the death.
