Tsakani – Apology Mashaya’s (19) love for music inspired him to become an amapiano artist making music under the sgicussion sub-genre.
Apology’s stage name is Malogy4910.
He draws inspiration from mixing deep emotions with new and creative beats. He aims to produce creative yet original music that resonates with his fans.
“I don’t want to follow what everyone else is doing. I want to use music to express myself in a real and relatable way.
“I started making music at 17 in my bedroom. At first, a passion it grew into something serious. I look up to artists like Jaylokas, Zan’ten and Kelvin Momo because of their creativity, sound, and the way they push music forward,” he said.
Apology has worked with local artists such as Siiman6, Sabta D’ Musiq, The Kota King and Soultone RSA and wishes to work under the Black is Brown Entertainment – a record label owned by South Africa’s own Mr JazziQ.

“I have big projects coming up, and cannot wait for people to hear them. I am working on an EP titled Thrives on Heavy. It is about pushing through struggles and staying strong despite every challenge. It will be released on April 11,” he added.
“My music has not landed me any awards but I am working hard, and believe it will happen soon. An interesting fact about producing music, especially in my style, is how much the bass line and percussion shape the entire vibe of a track.
“The bass line is not just about low-end frequencies, it sets the mood. Percussion brings movement and energy. Even a small tweak in a hi-hat pattern can change how a song feels.
“I spend a lot of time making sure both elements hit just right because they drive the entire experience of the track,” he explained.
He mentioned he makes music to express emotions and it helped him grow as an individual. He said it has taught him patience, hard work, and how to connect deeper with people.
“Each experience has helped me grow as an artist,” he concluded.
