On 3 March 2025, the ECOWAS Commission convened in Abuja the Ministers of Finance and the Governors of the Central Banks of the Member States for the 11th ECOWAS Conference. The Council of Ministers Adebayo Olawale Edun, Minister of Finance of Nigeria, underlined the importance of this currency in the West African economic integration process and its potential impact on the improvement of the living conditions of the population.
