​The European Commission has recently published a report on the implementation of the EU’s anti-corruption strategy. 

  The judicial scrutiny is tightening around several former Directors of the General Administration and Equipment (Dage), implicated in the management of the response fund against the Covid-19 pandemic. These are cited in the 2022 report of the Cour des comptes, which has brought to light numerous irregularities. On Friday 18 April, several former officials were transferred to the Dakar prosecutor’s office. They now await a decision of the investigating judge, expected next Tuesday, following a return of parquet.. According to the information provided by Le Quotidien, among the persons concerned are Ndèye Aminata Loum Ndiaye, former Dage of the Ministry of Industrial Development and SMEs, Djiby Diakhaté, former Dage of the Ministry of Family, as well as three of his collaborators: Ndongo Mbaye, Mamadou Guèye Dramé and Omar Ngalla Faye. According to the same source, Aliou Sow, former Dage of the Ministry of Community Development, was arrested by the Division of Criminal Investigations (DIC). He is suspected of having orchestrated a surfacturation in the purchase of rice intended for vulnerable populations, for an amount estimated at 2,75 billion CFA francs. L’opérateur économique Moustapha Ndiaye, cité dans cette affaire, announced for his part that he would respond to the convocation of the DIC scheduled for next week. In addition, Pierre Malick Ndong, a former accountant, has been indicted for embezzlement of public funds by the judge d’instruction du second cabinet.
