The European Parliament has adopted a resolution on the situation in the former Yugoslavia.

After several reports, the Chambre d’instruction of the Cour d’appel de Paris ordered yesterday, Wednesday the suspension of the examination of the request for extradition of Pape Dora Gueye. This decision was taken pending the submission of the additional information requested by the Senegalese State. These addenda, which are divided into eight paragraphs, concern, inter alia, ‘the guarantee of a fair trial in Senegal, a guarantee that if Pape Dora Gaye is detained the conditions of his state of health will be taken into account, but also a guarantee that the offence of fraud for which he is being prosecuted is not prescribed’. According to Libération, a new hearing is scheduled for 10 December. As a reminder, Pape Dora Gueye had been arrested in Paris following an international arrest warrant issued by the judge of the troisième cabinet d’instruction du tribunal de Dakar and transmitted to Interpol. He had then been released after having paid a bail of EUR 160 000, pending the submission and examination of the extradition request.
