Following the accusations of the deputy Thierno Alassane Sall concerning the “scandal of the 37 billion” of the ASER, his colleague Amadou Ba, member of the Pastef party (party au pouvoir) quickly replied.. Amadou Ba was ironized by the approach of Thierno Alassane Sall, who was called “Don Quichotte”. He criticized his trip to Spain, saying that the deputy returned without “trophies” after having tried to find proofs of his “fantastic accusations”. According to Amadou Ba, the written question of Thierno Alassane Sall “proves all the absurdity of his accusations”. It stresses that the disbursements denounced by Thierno Alassane Sall took place in June 2024, i.e. before the assumption of office of the new Director General of ASER, Jean Michel Sène, who was appointed on 5 June 2024 but did not take office until 11 July 2024. The disbursements would therefore have been made under the authority of the former Director-General, appointed by the previous government. The deputy Amadou Ba affirmed that Thierno Alassane Sall was “desperately trying to find a source of corruption” to position himself as “opponent no. 1”, a status he could not obtain because of his “successive electoral disasters”. He also accuses him of not defending the general interest but of contenting himself with “laïus” distilled by one of the parties involved in the case. For Amadou Ba, Thierno Alassane Sall’s “obstinate” refusal to debate publicly with the director general Jean Michel Sène is explained by the fear of being “ridiculated” and of having to “respond to some old dossiers that are time bombs” dating from the time when he was Minister of Energy. Finally, Amadou Ba concludes by affirming that the agitation of this “pseudo-scandal” by the opposition, près de 18 mois après l’arrivée au pouvoir du Pastef, is the proof that the slogan “Jub Jubbal Jubanti” (to act, to correct oneself, to act justly) is not just a slogan, but a “reality in all the administrations”.
