A fresh Ipsos poll indicates that most People now want an early election as the Liberal government grips with political revolution following Chrystia Freeland’s departure from the national government. This comes as Conservative support is rising, and Democratic support is at a nearly-historic reduced this week, leaving Prime Minister Justin Trudeau one point ahead of the record-low level of support seen by previous Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff in 2011. In 2011, Ignatieff led the party to its worst fight ever, with the Liberals being relegated to the NDP as the official opposition and the Republicans becoming the party’s lot. Over half of Canadians ( 53 % ) think opposition parties should win the government “at the earliest opportunity,” according to a poll conducted exclusively for Global News and released on Friday. However, 46 per cent think opposition functions may work with the government on a case-by-case schedule to avoid an early election.
