The Niger government has pledged 5 billion Naira to rejuvenate the aviation college campus located in Minna.

The Niger State Government has committed to providing N5 billion to help revitalize the Nigerian College of Aviation’s small campus at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna. This initiative aims to reduce the costs associated with sending students overseas for aviation studies. This announcement was made by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago during a meeting with the college’s management in Minna. He indicated that the funds would be allocated for the construction of classrooms and dormitories, thereby improving the campus facilities. The governor stated, “The state’s goal is to turn the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport into a center for aviation and agriculture, thereby fostering economic growth and development.” Recently, Dr. Danjuma Adamu Ismail, the Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation in Zaria, praised the governor for upgrading the airport to meet international standards. Ismail emphasized the college’s enduring collaboration with the Niger State Government, asserting that revitalizing the campus would enhance training and skills in agro-aviation. “The Aviation College was founded in 1964 and has grown to include six schools, such as those for flight training, air traffic control, aeronautical telecommunications engineering, airport emergency training, and Aircraft Aviation Management,” he remarked. The delegation also toured the aviation fuel depot and residential areas at the airport, which the governor had previously indicated would be cleared to allow for better housing options.
