Hicham Ait-Menna, the president of Wydad Casablanca, has disclosed that the club sought to recruit Cristiano Ronaldo. The Moroccan team aimed to bring in the Portuguese captain on a temporary basis for the Club World Cup. The seasoned striker was also contacted by several other clubs participating in the tournament. Ronaldo opted out of the tournament and has now decided to renew his contract with the Saudi club Al-Nassr. Ait-Menna stated, “I’m unsure how the rumor got out there. But indeed, I contacted one of his agents approximately three to four months ago to inquire if he would be interested in participating in the Club World Cup.” He responded, ‘I don’t believe that’s the case.’
