​The surprising request of Ousmane Sonko for… 

  Following an interministerial meeting held on Friday 30 May 2025 in the Presidential Administration Building Mamadou Dia, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko took a series of measures to secure, modernise and reform the organisation of examinations and competitions throughout the country. While several classical provisions were recalled, attention was mainly focused on the new measures introduced to transform the Senegalese education system in a lasting way. Suppression of the competition for admission to the Sixth Among the key announcements, the Prime Minister called for an examination of the abolition of the Sixth Class Entrance Exam, in a logic of refounding the fundamental cycle. It also proposed a reform of the evaluation system of the CFEE and the BFEM, in connection with the revision of the curricula, as well as the academization of the organization of the BFEM. New areas of study. The Government also envisages the creation of the CFEE and the BFEM Arabe, in order to take better account of the linguistic and cultural diversity of the national education system.
