The United States has pulled out of a $9.3 billion agreement focused on assisting developing nations in shifting from coal to renewable energy sources. Initiated in 2021, the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) aims to support developing countries in their transition to cleaner energy sources by providing loans and grants, starting with South Africa, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Senegal. The United States has withdrawn from a $9.3 billion climate financing agreement that was intended for South Africa, Senegal, and several other nations.
