The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday, 18 September 2025, on the appeal brought by Barthélemy Dias to contest his removal from office as Mayor of Dakar by the Prefect of the Capital. The institution dismissed the action brought by the now former mayor of Dakar and thus confirmed the loss of his mandate as premier magistrat de la ville précitée. Mr Dias contested the order made by the State of Senegal, following his definitive conviction in the Ndiaga Diouf case.
