The speculations on a supposed fracture between the President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and his Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko regularly resurface in the public debate. Once again, persistent rumours of internal tensions have circulated on social networks and in some political circles. But El Malick Ndiaye, president of the National Assembly and Pastef cadre, decided to break the silence. Without détour, he has denied any form of rivalry or dispute at the top of the State. “One cannot pretend to love this country and, at the same time, dream every day of seeing them divided”, he wrote in a Facebook post. For him, those who stir up these rumors are motivated by an unhealthy desire to see a duo whose arrival to power has upended the national political establishment split. “They are condemned to be together”. El Malick Ndiaye insists on the strength of the bond that unites Diomaye et Sonko, a bond that, according to him, goes beyond simple political collaboration.
”Their destiny is inseparable”, assures El Malick Ndiaye
