The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr Bassirou Diomaye Faye, accompanied by the First Lady, Mrs Absa Faye, and an important delegation, paid a courtesy visit to the Khalife général des Mourides, Serigne Mountakha Mbacké, this afternoon in the holy city of Touba. This visit was an opportunity for the Head of State to reiterate the instructions given to the Government to ensure the smooth running of this edition of the Magal. The President also requested the prayers and blessings of the Khalifa for the success of the projects he intends to carry out for Senegal, including in the city of Touba, in the fields of hydraulics, sanitation, education and basic infrastructure. Through his spokesman, Serigne Bassirou Mbacké Abdou Khadre, the Khalife général expressed his deep attachment to the President of the Republic, saluting his spiritual and patriotic commitment. “As soon as I saw you, heard and observed your attachment to Tawhid, I understood your sincere desire to serve the country”, he declared.. Le Khalife also assured the Head of State of his support and addressed him with prayers for the success of his initiatives.
