The Sangomar oil field reached a production of 2.7 million barrels in February 2025, confirming the rise in power of the Senegalese oil sector. For the first time, a cargo was destined for local refining, marking a historic turning point in the valorization of national resources. According to the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum and Mines, three cargoes (SAN021, SAN022 and SAN023) representing a cumulative volume of 2.59 million barrels have been shipped and marketed on the national and international markets. PETROSEN Trading & Services has in fact acquired the cargo SAN021 for the SAR refinery, with an allocation of 647 426 barrels, marking a major advance in the valorisation of the country’s petroleum resources.
