Traditional rulers in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State have called for the death of kidnappers operating in the area. This invocation took place on December 24 during a special prayer session where they performed rituals such as pouring libation, breaking kola nuts, and making declarations against bandits in Umuahia North. Led by Eze Innocent Nwaigwe, the leaders proclaimed death upon any kidnappers terrorizing the local residents. They also stated that the local government would experience a peaceful and secure environment throughout the Christmas and New Year periods and prayed for the safety of all community members. The kings invoked bees to chase away any kidnappers hiding in the bushes in Umuahia North, declaring that the criminals would either die or be caught unless they ceased their harmful activities. Additionally, the Umuahia North Monarchs prayed for God’s protection and guidance over Governor Alex Otti, expressing that the current administration in Abia State has performed well in terms of security and other leadership aspects. After the prayers, Eze Innocent Nwaigwe mentioned that the rulers asked the gods to impose capital punishment on kidnappers if they do not reform their ways.
