A serious road accident occurred in the evening of Friday 17 January, at the height of the village of Aïnoumadi, at the exit of Goudiry. Two agents of the Ministry of Mines and Geology lost their lives in this tragedy: Anna Badiane Badji, aged 34, engineer geologist topographer in service at the Direction des Contrôles et des Opérations Minières (DCSOM), resident in Dakar, and Moustapha (Mohamed) Sow, chauffeur at the DCSOM, aged 44, resident in Dagana. According to our information, their vehicle collided with a Malian truck. The accident also injured two people, who were evacuated to the Regional Hospital of Tambacounda. The workers’ union of the Ministry of Mines and Geology deplores the tragic disappearance of these two agents during a mission, expressing their deep regret at this loss.
